Open Singles - any gender - one
event
Age 55+ Singles - men's & women's
Open Doubles -
men's & women's
Age 55+ Doubles - any gender - men, women
or mixed - one event. Both players must be over 55 years of
age.
Please note an event will only be played if a minimum of
3 players/teams register for that event.

Entry deadline: received by 5:00 pm Friday October 14th,
2011 - entries received after this time will NOT be included
in the tournament.

~ Name
~ Phone #
~ Event(s) entered i.e. Open Singles, Open Doubles, 55+ Singles and/or
55+ Doubles
~ Age (as of October 16.2011) if entering 55+ event(s)
~ Name of double's partner(s) - each member of a doubles team to
submit an entry.
~ If you are currently rated by any
Provincial, State or National table tennis organization please
include your rating
~ If you are not currently rated by any
Provincial or National table tennis organization and did not
enter this tournament in the last 2 years please estimate and include your current
rating. (For help in estimating your rating check this self-rating
guide).

| Eligibility |
Entry is limited to residents of Vancouver Island, the
Sunshine Coast & the Gulf Islands. |
| Formats |
Dependent upon entries, but a
round-robin format will be used initially wherever possible.
Every effort will be made to ensure a minimum of 3 matches
for each participant/team in all events. |
| Cost |
There will be a $5.00 facility
(entry) fee for each participant, payable upon arrival.
Spectators/guests free. |
| Schedule |
Facility
will open at 8:15 am for warm-ups. 6 tables available.
Early rounds of the Open Singles will start
promptly at 9:00 am. This will be followed by the Women's
55+ Singles and the Men's 55+ Singles at approx.
10:30 am to 11:00 am. All doubles events will start at the
conclusion of the singles events, probably after noon.
Please note these times are tentative. It is the
responsibility of all players to be available to play when
required. Players unavailable when needed will be defaulted. For
that reason we highly recommend players arrive at the venue
ahead of the tentatively scheduled playing times. Please be
prepared for delays.
We recommend you bring your own food.
Finals of Open Singles tentatively scheduled for 2:00pm
to 3:00pm.

rules will be in effect.
All rackets must be black on one side and red on the other
side with ITTF
approved coverings.
Tie-breaks in round-robins will be decided successively by
head-to-head results, least number of games conceded then least
number of points conceded. Games and points will only be used as
far as is necessary to resolve the order only of those players
involved in the tie.
Colour of playing shirt must not be white or orange. Dark
colours are recommended.

Please note - upon arrival all
players will be asked to pay the $5.00 'facility fee' and
will be required to sign the following waiver:
"I hereby
agree to abide by the tournament rules and all decisions of
the tournament committee and to release the Vancouver Island
Table Tennis Association, the City of Nanaimo, the Nanaimo
Table Tennis Club, Courtside Sports and the Tournament
Committee from responsibility for any loss, damages or
injuries, occurring as the result of participating in this
tournament." |
